Harvest Time Spiced Apple Cider Shake

There is nothing like a fresh apple, just off the tree, partnered with warm fall spices, like cinnamon and ginger. Our Harvest Time Spiced Apple Cider Shake takes everything you love about spiced apple cider and turns it into a chilly, antioxidant-rich treat.

Sweet, with just a hint of sharpness from the apple cider vinegar, this Spiced Apple Cider Shake may also help you kick seasonal allergies to the curb. The raw honey may help keep you from sneezing while you are out on your run. And, as honey is metabolized quite quickly if you are lacking in energy, this cool apple cider smoothie can add some pep to your step on the drearier Autumn mornings.

Harvest Time Spiced Apple Cider Shake

  • Servings: 1
  • Ready In: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 apple, sliced
  • 1/2 cup frozen grapes
  • 1/2 cup apple juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey, preferably raw
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

Health Benefits

  • Apples: this time of the year apples have a distinctive crunch and sweetness. Apples are low in calories, high in fiber, and have vitamin C, vitamin K, and potassium to boot.

  • Grapes: are a fantastic healthy snack when frozen. They transform into little bombs of sweetness and add texture and flavor to a harvest time shake. Grapes contain the celebrated antioxidant resveratrol that gives red wine its health-promoting reputation.

  • Raw honey: is a healthy natural sweetener that is packed with proven health benefits. Research shows that eating honey is linked to healthy cholesterol levels and a reduction in seasonal allergy symptoms. Did you know it only takes 15 minutes for the body to metabolize energy from honey for use by your muscles? Pretty cool!

  • Cinnamon: is one of the most widely used spices on the planet. In addition to its flavor, it provides outstanding health benefits due to its high concentration of antioxidants. In fact, cinnamon outranks the antioxidant capacity of other medicinal superstars like oregano and garlic.

  • Ginger: is a delightfully pungent spice that brings just a touch of heat. Ginger is a good source of magnesium, potassium, manganese, and vitamin C, upping the nutrient density in this Spiced Apple Cider Shake.
