Tropical Breezes Immunity-Boosting Smoothie

  • Servings: 1
  • Ready In: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 blood orange
  • 1/2 cup pineapple, frozen
  • 1/2 cup mango chunks, frozen
  • 1/2 cup pomegranate juice
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Dragon fruit powder

Health Benefits

  • Blood oranges: are delicious, nutritious, and bold in color. Like other citrus fruits, blood oranges are high in vitamin C and other antioxidants, making them the perfect wellness warriors for cold and flu season.

  • Pineapple: is packed with vitamins and minerals, with a 1/2 cup measuring in at over 50% of your DV of vitamin C and over 30% of your DV of manganese.

  • Mango: is a delicious tropical fruit that is teeming with vitamins and minerals. A 1/2 cup of mango provides 50% of the DV of vitamin C, and it is also an excellent source of vitamin A, folate, vitamin B6, and vitamin K.

  • Pomegranate: is known for its bright flavor and even brighter color. Pomegranates are polyphenol rich. Polyphenols are powerful antioxidants with anti-inflammatory properties. And, of course, pomegranate has a wealth of vitamin C to feed you.

  • Lemons: are loaded with vitamin C, and their sharp sour flavor actually makes other flavors more intense. In this banana-free smoothie recipe, the lemon juice brings to the forefront the flavors of mango, pomegranate, blood orange, and dragon fruit.

  • Dragon fruit: is not a common fruit bowl ingredient in the United States, and it can be a challenge to find it in a grocery store, which is why this immunity-boosting smoothie uses dragon fruit powder. It does have a shockingly bright hue, and dragon fruit delivers a storehouse of vitamin C, fiber, iron, and other essential nutrients.

Instructions

  1. Place the frozen pineapple and frozen mango chunks in the base of the blender.
  2. Add the blood orange sections.
  3. Pour in the pomegranate juice and the lemon juice.
  4. Sprinkle the dragon fruit powder on top.
  5. Secure the lid and blend until smooth.
  6. Sip and enjoy as this immunity-boosting smoothie floods your body with antioxidants and wellness.
